Ulvegutten Tal
This fall I have been working/drawing on a new children's book project. It's called "Ulvegutten Tal". (In english: Tal the wolfboy) A story written by price awarded, Norwegian writer Tor Åge Bringsværd. It follows Tal, an 8 year old boy in the stoneage era. Very exciting!
These are some of the first sketches I did for the project.
The very first character sketches |
The animals I made got the go. But I have to work more on the humans. The editor and writer want a more halfrealistic look. This is too manga ish. |
Practising on making a combo of realistic and comic style. And also more sabertooth tiger and a prehistoric dragon (feathered Trex). |

Text illustrations and social media
Text illustrations for Asfalt street magazine! Text was about a
woman who had a lot of things to do, some garden work among other
things. But she constantly got distracted by social media and
internet...
I chose to depict the text in these two ways.
Inspired by Eve and the snake in the garden of Eden.
But the fruit is represented by different media logos and Apple
products. She is tempted to use social media instead of working in the garden! |
Lured by social media! I don't have a lot to say here..Let the image do the talking! |

shipwrecks and watercolor sketch
Seatroll fishing. |
A sandhopper changed his mind about taking a bath in a pool. |
Sketches of weird things from the sea. Thinking about using it for a story. It's all in norwegian:P |
Watercolor sketches from my watercolor moleskine sketchbook. I often head out to the sea to do some spearfishing with my friends and my trusty harpoon spear. This ends up with a lot of inspiration to draw things. There is something about the sea and what might be lurking underneath that really intrigues me. I find it very simple to draw waterscapes and creatures that inhabit those areas.

Children's book cover
This is the final cover for my children's book about working animals!
Lots of animals working on the front. And the lazy unemployed sloth on the back,
as a contrast to the working ones. The Zebra on the back is "working" as a barcode :P
This was a lot of work..I was a little nervous about the cover in the beginning. I struggled with it in the sketching process. But it came around after a while. It's made in watercolors primarily. I made each element separately and put it all together digitally. In the end i'm quite pleased with the outcome.
The book is published by Cappelen Damm publisher (the badger is digging up their logo) And will be available for purchase somewhere in june.
