Ulvegutten Tal
This fall I have been working/drawing on a new children's book project. It's called "Ulvegutten Tal". (In english: Tal the wolfboy) A story written by price awarded, Norwegian writer Tor Åge Bringsværd. It follows Tal, an 8 year old boy in the stoneage era. Very exciting!
These are some of the first sketches I did for the project.

| The animals I made got the go. But I have to work more on the humans. The editor and writer want a more halfrealistic look. This is too manga ish. |

| Practising on making a combo of realistic and comic style. And also more sabertooth tiger and a prehistoric dragon (feathered Trex). |

Text illustrations and social media
Text illustrations for Asfalt street magazine! Text was about a
woman who had a lot of things to do, some garden work among other
things. But she constantly got distracted by social media and
internet...
I chose to depict the text in these two ways.

| Inspired by Eve and the snake in the garden of Eden.
But the fruit is represented by different media logos and Apple
products. She is tempted to use social media instead of working in the garden! |

| Lured by social media! I don't have a lot to say here..Let the image do the talking! |

shipwrecks and watercolor sketch

| Sketches of weird things from the sea. Thinking about using it for a story. It's all in norwegian:P |
Watercolor sketches from my watercolor moleskine sketchbook. I often head out to the sea to do some spearfishing with my friends and my trusty harpoon spear. This ends up with a lot of inspiration to draw things. There is something about the sea and what might be lurking underneath that really intrigues me. I find it very simple to draw waterscapes and creatures that inhabit those areas.

Children's book cover
This is the final cover for my children's book about working animals!
Lots of animals working on the front. And the lazy unemployed sloth on the back,
as a contrast to the working ones. The Zebra on the back is "working" as a barcode :P
This was a lot of work..I was a little nervous about the cover in the beginning. I struggled with it in the sketching process. But it came around after a while. It's made in watercolors primarily. I made each element separately and put it all together digitally. In the end i'm quite pleased with the outcome.
The book is published by Cappelen Damm publisher (the badger is digging up their logo) And will be available for purchase somewhere in june.

Hippo trophy
Hippo trophy. This was just a tiny sketch i did to illustrate an idea i had,
but then i decided to scan it, color and texture it. I kind of like these simple
sketches. I don't think when i do them, so they are very random and
spontaneous.
Author picture
That's me! And some of my friends from the forest. This picture will feature in my children's book, soon to be published. It's actually been sent to print today!
The badger and the beaver are wearing their uniforms. Badger as a digger/miner and beaver as a lumberjack.

Doodle Diary: BEHEMOTH
Behemoth from the book of Job in the Bible!
The description of Behemoth matches a sauropod (long neck) dinosaur very well! No modern animal fits the description full out!
In the Bible the word "Tannyin" which means DRAGON, is mentioned 27 times! And their description is very alike to that of dinosaurs! The word dinosaur wasn't invented until the 1800.

Mira handbook comission
For the last couple of weeks i've been working on some illustrations for a client! The illustrations will feature in a handbook about child protective services and minority families.
For the project they wanted a safe, children's book feel. And they referenced to my former Noahs ark drawings. So i went for that style!

From sketch to color 2
I realize i haven´t updated my blog in quite a while...no excuses..anyways! Here goes!
This is something i doodled on when i went on an adventure with 2 friends to Tunisia, north Africa!
A character of mine is having a brave moment as he tries to fight of a monstrous dragon! He usually dwells in his den reading books...So this is sort of outside his comfort zone!
Here is the colored version! I actually colored this digitally in photoshop! Haven´t done that in quite a while, with any personal work! As i tend to do things traditionally and then edit only digitally! But this was very fun actually! And i think i´m discovering my own painting style in the digital world!
I will try to update more often from now on! Until next time! AVAST!!!
